NOM 1111 is Pernod Ricard’s tequila distillery. It produces two lines that are easy to confuse at the shelf and are not the same thing: the standard Olmeca range, and Olmeca Altos.

Altos is not the same as Olmeca
Olmeca Altos Plata and Reposado are 100% agave, and usually sell for only a few dollars more than the standard bottles. Altos Reposado is a genuine reposado — by law it has spent between two and twelve months in oak, rather than taking its colour from a bottle of caramel.
The standard Olmeca Blanco and Gold we have deliberately left marked unknown rather than guessing. They are widely described as mixto, but that is not something we have verified from a label, and the entire point of keeping a reference sheet is not to pass along assumptions as facts. If you own a bottle, the front label settles it in one glance.
What to take from it
If you reached for Olmeca Gold because you wanted something smoother than the silver, Altos Reposado is the honest version of that — actual time in oak, at 100% agave, from the same distillery.
