Which programs
Affiliate links here currently go to Total Wine & More, through the FlexOffers network. If that changes, this page changes with it.
Affiliate links are marked in the page code with rel="sponsored", which is the attribute search engines use to identify paid links. They also open in a new tab.
What it does not affect
It does not affect which bottles appear or what is said about them.
The clearest example is on the añejo guide. The bottle recommended there is Fortaleza Añejo, at around $100 — chosen over two bottles on the same page that cost $170 and $500 and would pay a larger commission. Fortaleza is recommended because it has been independently verified additive-free and is made with methods most distilleries abandoned decades ago. That is the basis for every recommendation on this site: how the tequila is made, what is in it, and which distillery actually produced it.
Bottles are also listed that are not recommended, or that come with caveats, even where a link exists for them. A guide that only praises the things it can sell you is not a guide.
Not every link is an affiliate link
Links to regulatory documents, distillery sites, the Consejo Regulador del Tequila, verification programmes and other reference sources earn nothing. They are there because they are the source for a claim being made, and you should be able to check it.
Prices
Prices shown on this site are approximate and move around by state, retailer and season. Always check the current price on the retailer’s own page before buying. Where a price range is given, it is a guide to which shelf a bottle sits on, not a quote.
Questions
